Out of the Earth

Sometimes Machen, Lovecraft, and Blackwood shorts get jumbled in my mind. So I'm not sure if Machen is the one who uses this literary narrative a lot: less plot-filled than reflective backstory and past action by a single uninvolved narrator.

However, despite the fact that it wouldn't seem this sort of narrative choice would be interesting, I kind of like it.
